Music Through the Ages with Cantor Elias Rosemberg

Renowned for his rich baritone voice, inimitable spirt and irresistible enthusiasm, Argentinian born Cantor Elias Rosemberg takes us on a musical journey, from Buenos Aires to New England, at a concert presented by Congregation Beth David on July 21. Cantor Rosemberg is cantor at Newton’s Temple Emmanuel and performs in concert, and on radio and television, blending Latin rhythms, opera, cantorial melodies, and Broadway tunes. He is featured on three of the Cantors Assembly’s CDs: “Encore,” “The Spirit of Jewish World Music,” and “The Spirit of Celebration.” The performance is Sunday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Narragansett Community Center, 53 Mumford Road, Narragansett. Tickets are $45 each and checks can be sent to Congregation Beth David, mailed to Congregation Beth David, PO Box 3299, Narragansett, RI 02882. Born into a musical family in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cantor Rosemberg attended Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano, where he obtained the degree of Hazzan and Singing Professor. Cantor Rosemberg worked as a concert and wedding performer in the Buenos Aires area, appearing on both radio and television In 2001, Hazzan Rosemberg moved to the United States and joined the Cantors Assembly. From 2001 to 2007, he served as the Cantor of Temple Emeth in Chestnut Hill, MA, and in 207 moved to Newton’s temple Emmanuel, where has been recorded several CDs of meaningful music In 2016, Cantor Rosemberg was the recipient of the Hiddur Mitzvah award by Masorti Olami. He is the first Cantor from Latin America to receive this distinction.
