Coffee ‘An… “No Room at the Inn” A story of homelessness, affordable housing, and Wakefield’s Welcome House Sunday, February 9 at 10 am at Bagelz, Wakefield

 

As temperatures dipped to the low single digits, and wind chill below zero, hundreds of Rhode Islanders were clinging to hope that perhaps a bed, a cot, a couch or a chair or even a mat might be open at any of the state’s homeless shelters. For some, it wasn’t to be, and they battled the cold in cars or tents in some of Rhode Island’s more remote areas. It’s not a fairy tale. Ask Russ Partridge, who has been serving that community for 40 years, from Crossroads in Providence to the WARM Center in Westerly. Russ joins us for a Coffee ‘An at Bagelz on Feb. 9. He’s currently executive director of the WARM Center, the WARM Family Shelter at URI, and the Welcome House in Wakefield. Want to make a difference?
